Sonfarrel Aerospace Receives its First AS9100D Certification Under New Ownership

Anaheim, CA (September 19, 2019) – Sonfarrel Aerospace LLC has achieved its first AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certifications since the company’s ownership change in October 2018. Certified on August 4, 2019, the company’s composite customer quality rating is at an outstanding 98% for their Tier 1 customers, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Collins Aerospace, and others.

Founded in 1955, Sonfarrel Aerospace, formerly Sonfarrel Inc., has been a mainstay for manufactured aerospace parts and assemblies in Southern California for over 60 years. Since the regime change in fall of 2018, Sonfarrel Aerospace (Son-Aero) has added over $500,000 in new equipment, hired over 40 new employees, and launched company-wide employee satisfaction and service initiatives.

As a part of their Six-Sigma Lean manufacturing practices, they have developed the Son-Aero STAR Initiative, a manufacturing program that implements systematic communication protocols, tactical approaches to waste reduction and streamlined processes, prioritized alliances with customers based on integrity and communication, and finally a resilience-based approach to process control and continuous improvement.
Son-Aero’s STAR Initiative along with the recent AS9100D certification lays some important groundwork in their vision to reinvent the standard in aerospace and defense manufacturing industry.
